Funny side of marrriage !

1 There are always two sides for a story.

But with husband and wife there are three sides,

HIS, HER and the TRUTH.

2 When he works, she gets full salary and half husband

When he retires, she gets half salary and full husband.

3 There is a way of transferring funds that is

even faster than electronic banking. It is

called “marriage”.

4 Every mom generally hopes that her daughter

will snag a better husband than she managed to do so.

But she is certain that her boy will never get

great wife as his father did.

5 Women hope men will change after marriage but they

don't; men hope women won't change but they do.

A man is incomplete until he is married. After that, he is finished.

Food in Paradise

Every day we relish, taking different meals three times a day. Sometimes we also join with close relatives and friends. Allah is pleased with us when the guests are well attended and made happy.

If some people enter the house of a man, his food is eaten and his drink is drunk, and if they supplicate (to Allah) for him, then he gets a reward. In Islam not only the one who serves but also the one who is served gets a reward. How Merciful is Allah at us!

It is human nature that he serves the guest differently according to his likeness. It is the same way Allah prepares a feast for His Slaves. The one who has pleased Him deserves best and the one who makes Him angry will deserve differently.

Allah has not only shown signs of punishment in the Qur’an, He has also described His extent of mercy and reward. He calls us to worship Him by quoting the various gifts waiting for us. In Qur’an there are verses showing us the kind of feast in paradise.

The water in paradise will be clear and clean. It is fetched from a clear flowing fountain Salsabil. And it is passed in no ordinary cup but in a cup of silver and crystals.

A fountain there called Salsabil [76:18]

Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain [2:45]

Crystal-white of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof) [2: 46]

It is not just water for drink there is something more. Allah will bless us with drinks with added seasoning which will surpass all tastes. Paradise is not something comparable with our world. The taste and texture of food will be pure and unique.

As to the Righteous they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur [76:5]

Kafur is literally camphor. It is a seasoning added to the cup of pure wine, which causes no intoxication but stands for all that is wholesome, agreeable, and refreshing. It is added for the coolness and refreshment for the righteous.

And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil [76:17]

Zanjabil word literally means Ginger. Ginger gives warmth to the body and zest to the taste. To taste it we have to really work more!!

We sometimes have to wait for the right season to eat our favorite fruits. In the worst case it may not be available in the country we live in. But in the paradise Allah will gift His followers with all the fruits they desire.

And (they shall have) fruits all they desire. [77:42]

And We shall bestow on them of fruit and meat anything they shall desire [52:22]

We mostly look for a stick or stone when we spot a fruit on a tree. But what is the situation like in paradise? You will not need anything to pluck the fruit. Allah will place it your reach. How wonderful will it be to see them hang at our reach!

The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. [69:23]

To add to the mystic, Allah has placed certain things in paradise that we have never seen before, such as the river of milk, honey and wine. Allah has already mentioned in the Qur’an that the paradise is free of any intoxication. So the wine mentioned here is divine unlike the alcoholic drinks.

A similitude of the Garden which those who keep their duty (to Allah) are promised: Therein are rivers of water unpolluted, and rivers of milk whereof the flavor changeth not, and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers, and rivers of clear run honey; therein for them is every kind of fruit, with pardon from their Lord…. [47:15]

Don’t you want to know what is first meal served in paradise for us?

………. And as for the first meal of the people of Paradise, it will be the caudite (i.e. extra) lobe of the fish liver……. [Sahih Al Buknari Hadith 6.7]

People were not only curious to know what would be served first they also wanted to know what would be served next. One day a Jew came and asked the Prophet (peace be upon him)

………What would constitute their breakfast when they would enter Paradise?  He (the Holy Prophet) replied: A caul of fish-liver.  He (the Jew) said: What would be their food after this?  He (the Holy Prophet) said: a bullock which was fed in the different quarters of Paradise would be slaughtered for them.  He (the Jew) said: What would be their drink?  He (the Holy Prophet) said: They would be given a drink from the fountain which is named Salsabil………. [Sahih Muslim Hadith 614]

But what happens to all food we eat? Is the digestive systems is different in paradise? Paradise is a place that is free from any pollutant or dirt. The food and drink is so pure in nature that there will be no work your digestive system. Still didn’t get it. Read this hadith from Sahih Muslim.

I heard Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) as saying that the inmates of Paradise would eat and drink but would neither spit, nor pass water, nor void excrement, nor suffer catarrh. It was said: Then, what would happen with food? Thereupon he said: They would belch and sweat (and it would be over with their food), and their sweat would be that of musk and they would glorify and praise Allah as easily as you breathe.

We struggle and work a life time to fill our stomach. It is the work same that will decide what will out stomach in the Hereafter. Work and live with faith. Let Allah help us all.

A reminder

First time cooking is always never a good experience. Even I got my finger half blistered. It was very painful for several days. I just wondered how painful it would be if Allah roasted us on fire for our own bad recipes, so better keep a good recipe with good proportions of fear for Allah, belief in the Hereafter and a will to follow His commands.

Besides learning Islam through Qur’an and Hadith , there are other ways to learn it. One such way is from our own lives. If we just think and recollect the instances we were happy, the moments that saved us, the opportunities that changed us, we will have a lot to think how Merciful Allah has been to us in spite of us being so neglectful.

There are many signs in this world to remind us of the Hereafter. Like my experience… it could even happen in a kitchen. But not many of take heed to it. Islam is the easiest religion if you follow it with your heart. If you take it as something to do outwardly it gets tough.

The Prophet said, "Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the nights." (Sahih Bukhari 1.38)

These days even children in most cases are not taught or exposed to spiritual gain in prayers, fasting and other obligations. It has rather become a customary mimicry. They are blind folded to real worth behind these obligations. We can only reap what we sowed. So if we sow Islam with good reasons surely the results will be fruitful.

Allah's Apostle said, "Every child is born with a true faith of Islam (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) but his parents convert him to Judaism, Christianity or Magainism….

(Sahih Bukhari 2.441)

Islam is a multicolored lantern. It always has only glow but people perceive it in different colors. The one who follows the glow will lead a bright life. The one who stick to the color he perceived will not earn much.

Nowadays, killing is there everywhere. Even human hearts are desensitized due to frequent news of death and killing. We no longer think of death. Death does not remind us of the Last Day. It rarely shakes our heart and brings tears. The only way to sensitize them again is by thanking the All Mighty Allah for giving a chance to live once again.

The rainbow is beautiful because it is a collective reflection of colors. Similarly our life will be beautiful if we collectively reflect the message of Islam.

A simple call

I chose to believe in God,

For it gave me courage to fight any odd.

It made me feel safe and sound,

It made me walk with no fear unbound.

I felt relieved and calm when I pray,

For it let wholesome happiness to stay.

It promised me support when I had none,

It taught me what to keep and what to shun.

It made me strong when ever I lose,

For it is their turn to win, tomorrow who knows whose.

It made me understand nothing stays forever,

But we must always try to succeed, however.

It made me act fair and square,

Not only at home but every where.

It softened my heart for the poor,

And I always wanted to help them for sure.

It made my character very nice,

I was called charming and wise.

It gave me a Friend to always watch upon me,

That is God, so Supreme and Mighty.

Our hopes and dreams also comes true,

But those who wait patiently are very few.

Faith works when it comes from the heart,

It cannot be taught like a lesson or art.

Talk from your heart to reach The Lord,

It is as simple as that, and not very hard.

Wife fattening !

Most of us connect hunger, poverty, disease and death to the country Africa.... but there is something more to it. Can you believe if I tell you that, in this under nourished country there is a strange tradition of force feeding children.

Mauritania is one of the African countries where obesity is so revered among Mauritania's white Moor Arab population that the young girls are sometimes force-fed to obtain a weight the government has described as "life-threatening".

A generation ago, over a third of women in the country were force-fed as children. Now only around one in 10 girls are treated this way. The treatment has its roots in fat being seen as a sign of wealth - if a girl was thin she was considered poor, and would not be respected.

But in rural Mauritania you still see the rotund women that the country is famous for. They walk slowly, dainty hands on the end of dimpled arms, pinching multicoloured swathes of fabric together to keep the biting sand from their faces.

They make them eat and eat and eat. And then drink lots and lots of water. They do this three times a day - in the morning, afternoon and in the evening."

Eventually the girls could end up weighing between 60 to 100 kilograms with lots of layers of fat.

Obesity is seen as a sign a husband cares for his wife. They are proud and show off their good size to make men dribble.Traditionally a fat wife was a symbol of wealth. Now they've got another vision, another criteria for beauty.

They believe fat woman can get married easily and serve the man well.

Hmm .... what a strange twist in woman's thought.

How to donate organs in an Islamic way ?

Donating organs is indeed a noble act. But there are certain things to keep in mind as a Muslim.

Firstly ....

A dead person (muslim) can doante organs to a living person on the condition that permission is given either by the person before his death or by his heirs, or by the leader of the Muslims in cases where the dead person’s identity is unknown or he has no heirs. Upon this condition he or she can doante organs wit no buying or selling. Yes.... NO MONEY involved.

But can the beneficiary spend money to show his appreciation is still under scholary debate.

Secondly...

The donar must be mature to understand what is being done. If we talk about donating organs while the donar is alive, it is haraam to take an organ on which life depends, such as a heart.

Thirdly...

The well being of the beneficiary and the donar must be assured.
